Be Clean Campaign

The Be Clean Campaign is an ongoing initiative that was sparked in 2017 to address the growing number of illnesses directly related to lack of infrastructure and to assist the general public in hygiene, sanitation, water contamination and waste management. An estimated 829,000 wash-related and 49.8 million DALY (Disability-Adjusted Life Years) deaths occurred from diarrhea diseases in 2016. The Be Clean campaign seeks to tackle the issue of inadequate water, hygiene and sanitation risk through the utilization of a number of methods including cleaning exercises, educational workshops, public sensitization and demonstrations in schools, which are meant to increase the number of lives saved from preventable diseases and illnesses.
